Kuantan Getaway!

I had a wonderful holiday at kuantan! all we did was mountain bike, surf, run, swim, eat eat and eat!

Sungai Lembing ride was good fun! the weather was overcast and with the monsoon breeze.. it was really nice!

then we rode the Monsoon Jamboree.. it is epic mud ride! the whole way was mud mud mud and mud! my target was to stay as close as possible with the Malacca Lady, but she had a bad crash. and hence i had a relaxing ride! =D the mud was merciless! i was covered in mud from top to toe as well as my bike! the gear wouldnt change the tyres refuse to spin the chain is stucked with one million stuff, the crank giving one thousand different kind of noise! definately rated as the muddiest ride EVER! no doubt i had GREAT fun! i had a bunch of malay guys as my excort! one of them even waited for me when i stop to clear some mud off my chain stay! lovely!

oh yeah! we had to cycle IN the river.. not along the river but IN the river.. hilarious!

what made the ride more significant was that the VIP himself rode the entire trail! BRAVO! that's what we call leadership through example!!

Surfing! had great fun trashing in the waves! the long board are big and steady but they are sooo heavy that i have to paddle till my arms nearly fall off! i think i wanna switch to slightly smaller board! time to lookout for surf camp! =D

the we rode Pelindung with steep short climb on tar road followed by awesome downhill to Teluk Cempedak!

how nice! i wish i could do that to my rottie too! but mine is simply incontrollable!

i miss Baby after spending a week with her! i wish to be back in Kuantan again! there is so much to eat and play! i had a jolly good time!

of durians, river, laughter, snakes!

oh yeah.. i'm back in ipoh again.. without my bike this time. feeling sooooo lazy not wanting to do any bike ride or run.. hehe

2 trips down the river yesterday.. awesome possum! i had the heaviest of all raft! sponge bob! nobody wants that yellow big bugger and so i had no choice! i'll make it work!

i love working in the river.. so much! i have great team mates that make me laugh my soul out! i was told that i broke the guido rule no.2 and no.4 for having my nails painted and with flowers on it! LOL! i think is the river.. that makes everyone so cheerful and chirpy! i laugh sooooo much till my stomach ache so badly! haha!

i had great clients too! they make every stuck on the rock and big rapids so much easier! though it takes big huge effort to steer that yellow monster! i love AIRE boats so much better! skinny and light. this yellow monster is big and steady though! take the big rapids with so much stability!

durians were everywhere in the river! picking up durians along the way and eating it right away! how nice! the after BURP tells it all!

it may be the same old river.. but each trip down is different! different challenge, different client, different line, different water level, different laugh!

i had one of the best days in the river! great clients! great colleague! guido rocks!

i love weekend

though i'm free everyday, weekend is still my highlight. coz nobody to layan me during weekdays to have too much fun!

sat morning was a easy run with michelle in ipoh! how nice! my first run after the entire week of eat sleep shit online and tv! lol.. time flies when you have good running buddy and running doesnt seem that bad!

then off for my work in gopeng.. i didnt have a fantastic line down the river but i had really awesome clients that make every stuck on the rock even more fun!! great spirit down all the way!!

after lunch was caving and i got bitten by some cave bug but is aint as bad as those i got from mountain biking in rubber estate. =P

i'm loving it!

i received a letter today.

i dont know whether to be happy or sad.

Penang Jamboree

i always tell myself to climb the hill and not let the hill climb me.. but on sunday, Penang hill climbed me! =(

i was warned that penang jamboree is very tough. yes. it is sooooo tough! so very tough.

didnt look tough enough! the actual course looks 100 times tougher!

this is not something i'm very proud of! i'm still waiting for photos of me riding instead of pushing! =D i remember i did mount my bike and pedal up coz i saw a photographer right on top. once i past her i came down and start pushing again.. =P this guy definitely caught me off guard! hmph! if they place a photographer at every other corner i think i'll ride up the whole hill! haha! what motivation!

the uphill seems forever.. but downhill is awesome! the switchbacks downhills.. i love it! the front riders definitely have it more challenging as it is slippery with so much moss! but come my time, it is nicely cleared with at least 900 riders went past it! i really wanna ride the downhill again. just the downhill! and i had good company too! i was in a group of malays and they were fantastic! they serve as my radio! keeping me entertained with their jokes till i nearly lost control!

but the downhill is too short lived! then come the 2nd uphill again! this time TOUGHER! i was obviously in my biggest chain ring downhill and gotta stop for sticker right at the bottom of the hill! i didn't bother to even try to ride the hill. i took a banana on one hand and push the bike up on the other hand.. and this hill took forever. i didnt enjoy it.

then the hike with the bike section. it was short and tolerable. and i had a friend who came to say hi!

this fella sit on my bottle cage.. for how long i want sure. but good thing is i wasnt bitten by it! close call!

then the final downhill.. dangerous as we are at top speed maneuvering through heavy traffic! i skidded one too many times.. upon reaching the town, traffic was sooo heavy.. i feel like minah rempit.. weaving around such heavy traffic!

cant be happier to be back!

awesome trip with lotsa yummy food with great ride! to climb the hill again.. not sure if i will but if it comes in a package of only downhill.. i definitely be the first to sign up!
